Put your thoughs on Portal 2 here.
For me the game is good for what i have played, will tell more when i beat it.
I'm past the part with the big switch (no spoilers) and pushing through this next section. I think it's bloody great so far. The puzzles are high quality, and often require a good deal of thought and twisty thinking to get through. The story is really entertaining, although it perhaps is not the strongest in the world. The most entertaining part so far is just noticing all the little quirks and listening to the bits of dialogue.
But, I'm not done yet, so I'll come back with a better opinion when I'm finished.
I think the end credit song is better than the first, kinda spoiler. Dont get me wrong the first portal the cake is a lie song was good, but this new song brings it to a modern age of music, with guitars and other instruments. Its my opion, and the dialog is pretty good, i was sad though when spoiler, gladios wakes up and ruins my favorite character.
I beat it 4 times now. Call me addicted. I now find myself thinking of placing a portal every time i see a white wall in real life.
I'm doing speed runs now, and my best time is 3 hours 2 minutes.
I put all my thoughts here. (By the way, I think I may be in love with the game)
It just arrived :)
Finished it in one session.
picking up portal 2 next week!!! so exiting =)
The ending was great.
New opinion: awesome! God, this is my favorite game of the year so far. Well done Valve, you made a game that improved in every way possible, and then took it to the (spoiler redacted). I applaud you.
Just finished it. The game might be short but is perfect in everyway a puzzle FPS can be. It's like Dan said on 2 chimps: "The only problem you can have is that you don't like these kind of games". Also the writing is as good as a game can get with excellent humor and plot.
I loved the game, I finished the single player AND co-op in about a day and a half and I even got all the achievements. Only reason I went for all the achievements though was just because I wanted a reason to play it again =D.
What I really loved was the fact that all the puzzles werent the same, and the puzzles used things like the gels and momentum differently. It's a difficult game at times but when you finally get to the door it makes you feel like a friggin genius!
Does anyone know how many Co-op levels are there in portal 2?. I'm stuck at Level 5 puzzle 6 and i was wondering just how much levels are there.
Afair there are 5 worlds á 9 levels.
Has anyone checked out the developer commentary? Give it a listen, it's really interesting. It helps explain how they do some of the really complicated technical stuff in the level designs. And what's more, in one of the Ratman dens in the third chapter, there's one of them, and it plays some sort of audio, and it's a wave file that displays SSTV images. I assume it is part of the Valve ARG, and it has led me to this conclusion:
VALVE ARE THE MOST CLEVER, DEVIOUS MOTHERFUCKERS ON THIS PLANET.
It all makes my brain hurt, sometimes.
If i could take it back and say one thing it would be, " I'M IN SPACE."
i got yesterday at 8:00 PM stayed up to 3:30 AM and finished it. It was a fun game but what now?
Play it with the developer commentary. It's well worth it in my opinion.
BTW PK is a good way 2 spell my name
Or you could play the Coop.
Or play it drunk.
Or try a speedrun.
Or wait 6 Months and be blown away once again :)
I got the PS3 version so I have it on PS3 & PC. The PS3 is how you're supposed to play it, but with all the cheats and summonings and Half-Life 2 weapons & enemies, PC is by far better.
