Mass Effect wont be the same as the rest of the other games. Darren Aronofsky director of requiem for a dream and Black Swan is helping Bioware create Mass Effect 3. I'm afraid to play this game now because requiem for a dream made me very depressed and I don't want this game to make me sad

I'm sure that there will be an ending like in ME2 where you can have everybody live through it based on Shepard's/your decisions. Sure, there probably won't be as much of the content like Mordin singing or romantic relations with your crew, but just seeing the entire galaxy team up to take down an intergalatic threat and (hopefully) win will be awe-inspiring to say the least.

And it's not like reapers are the worst threat we've faced as gamers. We stopped sephiroth from taking over the life-force of a planet, we stopped Arthas from destroying all life on Azeroth, we blew up hitler's head!

Hopefully there's an ass to ass scene or a lesbian scene in it then.

What.

Most games these days boil down to happy endings and holding down your hand so that you always knows how it ends. There needs to be more games that fuck up with your mind major, leaving a bad scar and making you cry at the end.

Hopefully there's an ass to ass scene or a lesbian scene in it then.

Hopefully the world decides porn isn't such a big deal and allows the stuff to run free amok games.

Okay no.

@OSad

the day porn's accepted is the day that kids learn about sex when they're 4 and nudisme is accepted with everyone walking hand in hand singing "we are the world". Nothing against it though since, let's be honest: a 4 year old doesn't care and when they figure it out they stop caring for it.

But on topic: it's becoming a bioware trademark to have some sex into it, but most of it is really artistic (other words: you don't see much). This doesn't stop people going ballistic on it though. I can see a "fallout 3"-eque ending into it: you die for the good of mankind or you send your teammates to die for you or everyone dies for your own gain.

The day porn's accepted in videogames is the day people realise that kids learn about that stuff naturally when they're 10, which is the age they start getting interested in more violent games and sex. And nudism wouldn't be such a big deal if we went back in history and realized that the first pieces of clothing were designed to shelter you from the cold, not hide your private parts or make you look cooler.

Basically, we turned into a bunch of hypocrites because of the modern standards of society and the poor kiddos are paying for it.

So what you're trying to say is by me hoping that more nudity and sex scenes are in the game is a step backwards in American squeamishness?

Right.

Right.

Not necessarely american but I can see your point., I would be satisfied if people stopped making a fuss about it and keep their squeamishness to their own neighbourhood. It really gets annoying if everytime the word "rape" or "sex" shows up, everyone goes running amock, it's not the word itself that will make people do it, it's the fuss around it that makes it happen. Try to tell a kid he musn't do something, he'll definitly do it. And some adults can be the same if the thing that they musn't do get's taboo'd or surpressed (catholic priests anyone?). Oh well, this isn't really the subject of this thread but whatever.

No go on it's good so far, but have you noticed that the only people that say these things are republicans from Fox news. And who ever watches that show is already stupid and will believe anything.

I did for a matter of fact, but that's almost a given, but still an important one nonetheless.

Came into this thread to put a proper reply in, but good to see the topic changed from Mass Effect 3 to porn. Nice.

Since it's the final game in the series, I doubt that they're going to let it end on a somber note. Yeah Requiem For a Dream did, but Aronofsky isn't directing and he's not the main composer. So I don't think we have anything to worry about. Mass Effect 2 was supposed to be the depressing one of the trilogy, and frankly it wasn't that bad...

unless you let all your team mates die in the final mission, that was pretty depressing. But i think the final mssion will be shepard sacrificing her/himself to kill all the reapers with a device like a halo.

What's wrong with a depressing game? Red Dead pulled it off and is memorable for that very fact alone.

Excited to see what happens in ME 3, depressing or uplifting, it will be great.

Red dead only had a depressing ending (the ending with him dying of course) but the event after that just gave you a feeling of satisfaction.

Also RDR had a little humor and absurd feeling about it with the typical RockStar stereotypes.

Requiem for a dream was depressing al the way.

I got a feeling that ME1 and 2 sales will go up as people try to get the best ending for ME3. Just saying its a good marketing idea.

Yeah...I was thinking that too.

Though a depressig ME3 might be just what we all want....after all it's the last of the series, so naturally we're all gonna be depressed :(

I just hope there will be some kind of happy end.
