I think it sounds like the best thing ever....but that's some bull when COD was already planning something like that. We are talking about a halo MMO right?

It can't be a Halo MMO because Microsoft owns the rights to Halo.

It'll be WoW in space.

I don't doubt Bungie can make something commendable but that's a BOOOOOLD claim. There's a reason WoW systematically eliminates it's competition every year.

Whatever it is, Bungie makes great games with lots of polish.  I only remember 2 patches for Halo 3 and none for Reach.  That's polish, so doesn't matter to me but I am buying it.  I can't wait to find out what I am buying though.

Making an MMO as your first project with a company with a reputation like Activision is probably the stupidest thing that Bungie could do, they have no prior experience making either MMO's or Action games so the game is likely either going to be riddled with bugs or a shitty, derivative game in it's own right if they go down this route.

FPS's are relatively easy to make, the only major issue is AI at this point, plus they have masses of experience with the genre, so it would be a breeze for them.

MMO's require an insane amount of care and attention to detail when it comes to handling content, especially if you're making it subscription based one, because your fanbase will rip you to shreds over the most trivial of things.

Believe me, I've been playing WoW for about 4 months now and I've heard nothing but bitching from self-entitled, little shits whenever there have been changes to anything. 90% of the threads on the blizzard forums seem to be "HURR, WARLOKS ARE OP! NERF 'EM OR I'LL UNSUBSCRIBE!!" or "THIS BOSS KEEPS KILLING ME BECAUSE I DO STUPID SHIT! MAKE HIM EASIER SO I CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT OTHER SHIT" or "CASUALS ARE RUINING THIS GAME, HOW CAN I BE HARDCORE WHEN YOU MAKE THIS GAME FOR RETARDS!"

Seriously, it's like that all of the time when something major happens.

Well, Bungie making an FPS MMO is kind of redundant. What are they gonna do, make a Halo esque-shooter for the PC? They already have a huge player base at the 360. And correct me if I'm wrong, but Halo Reach is almost as good as WoW when it comes to systematically killing people.

Though I'm sure it won't be something even remotely look-alike with Halo, Bungie already set a huge stone on the road for themselves. How can they break it down?

I swear I had my finger on the purchase button for WoW about a hundred times now. Good thing there's fine folks like you to sway me away from it.

The only reason I actually play WoW is because I have plenty of friends who play it and I am part of a decent guild. Running dungeons with randoms is a nightmare that I wish no gamer to ever suffer through, since there is a serious lack of co-ordination in general as well as a general atmosphere of retardedness.

I'm not saying that the only flaw of WoW is the player base, I mean the storyline in general is stupid as hell and riddled with plotholes for those curious enough to delve into the backtory and lore. I just get the feeling that Blizzard is just taking a 'This is happening, because we say so!' approach to their storytelling.
