Doesn't it have like 3 sponsor's, with what 1% support from users? That bill isn't going anywhere, don't know what the big fuss is about.

If anyone feels like following it: http://www.opencongress.org/bill/112-s978/show

It won't pass, at least in it's current form. There's nothing stopping the entire industry banding together and saying that they're ok with LP's and other videogame footage being posted online, since it is effectively free advertising for their products and saves them money on advertising costs. Plus the e-sports scene is not going to take this lying down, since they draw a sizeable audience through streaming over JTV/Ustream.

We have entire industries on our side, congress aren't retarded enough to destroy multi-million dollar industries without good reason.

but I think most governments underestemate the modern industries (internet based). This bill was mostly whispered into being by music and film companies who think DvD/CD sales are the only standards.

I don't mean to be a downer but I bet this bill will pass, considering the information from the link that MarioDragon provided.  I hope it doesn't pass.  I need my video walkthroughs and Drink Alongs!!

And for the people who say, "This violates our freedom of speech," your argument is irrelevant to the bill.

How will it pass? No way will the current form of THIS bill pass, as I said, it has 3 sponsors and no support from people. The punishment is ridiculous, a felony for watching/uploading something like a YouTube video about a video game? Our government is smarter than that, at least I hope.

My guess was based on the companies supporting this bill and how much money was, supposedly, thrown in, in the "Money Tab."  Money talks and lobbying works, though, right?  (No, seriously, doesn't bribing and lobbying work in the real world?)  Really, I don't know if it will pass or not; I'm just betting it will.

Edit:  And yeah, poor choice of a bet.  I'm not good at betting anyways, hah!
