I've heard the chimps of 2 Chimps on a Davenport talk about Jailbreaking your iPhone on many occasions. Since I just got an iPhone 4, I must ask the question: what exactly is Jailbreaking and how do I do it?

BTW, this took me about 10-15 minutes to type this on my iPhone for shits and giggles :P

Jailbreaking lets you run unsigned code on your iDevice, allowing you to do pretty much anything Apple doesn't want you to do.

As for doing it, google redsn0w. Make sure the jailbreak you are doing is untethered (tethered is a waste of time IMO). Good luck, and let me know if you need help with anything else.

Google greenpois0n and follow the instructions from there. A jailbroken iPhone let's you, as rvbfreak said, run unsigned code on your iPhone (or w/e). This means you can modify your iPhone so much that in the end, your imagination is your limit.
