Rage Refuses to Launch

I recently bought Rage off of Steam, and after 9 hours or so of installation, I found that it refuses to launch. I click "PLAY" and a window pops up saying "Preparing to launch RAGE", but nothing happens after it closes.  I tried  re-installing it, and got the same result. I don't know what the hell to do.
