Chapter 01: Worlds Apart - Dead Space: Extraction

Chpater 1 of Story Mode

This video serves as the introduction to Dead Space: Extraction. If you want to skip to the actual game, go to the 2:23 mark.

I tried shooting down the crane wire early on with the Rivet Gun, but I failed. It can be difficult to cut the wire with the Rivet Gun (which is the first weapon you get), but it's much easier to hit with the Plasma Cutter or Line Gun. Cutting the wire gives you the Sharpshooter Hidden Bronze Trophy.

This video ends right before the first enemy of the game.

A pretty cool detail is that enemies' health display on their RIGs accurately reflect how much damage they have taken.

The first Rivet Gun Weapon Upgrade is located in the room where you acquire the Stasis Module. (7:20) As I noted in the first video of this guide, I can only indirectly tell you of all of the Weapon Upgrade locations because I have already collected all in them in preparation for the Impossible Difficulty Mode that this guide is under. Every other type of collectible (Weapons, Text Logs and Audio Logs) can be collected more than once though, so I directly show how to get each of those.

This video ends right before activating the console just after the first hacking puzzle and first usage of Stasis in the game.

The first Plasma Cutter Weapon Upgrade is located near the door to the Life Support Power Room (the first Anti-Gravity room in the game). While playing, you should be able to clearly see it once you hear "Death is the answer, Sam... It's so obvious..." (2:53)

If you've played Dead Space, then you know that headshots aren't particularly useful. However, they ARE effective quick kills against the crazed humans you find in Chapter 1 and 2 of Dead Space: Extraction, so I recommend using that fact to your advantage to conserve ammunition.

As you can see, I got a five star rating (on Impossible mode) for this Chapter. It's not too difficult to do here, but it gets more challenging later on. I fully intend to get five stars with Impossible difficulty on for every Chapter in this game for this guide.
