Some of you reading this might not know who Mike Judge but, you probably know his work. He created the popular TV shows King of the Hill and Beavis and Butthead. Aong with that he directed the hysterical Office Space and Beavis and Butthead movie. Since the cancellation of his long running and hit show King of the Hill in 2009 it seems like Judge disappeared. He created an animated show that same year, The Goode Family, for ABC but, wasn’t a hit so it eventually was cancelled then moved to Comedy Central where it was cancelled again.
It seems like Mike Judge has not been able to achieve the success he had since the late 1990s. Do not count him out though Beavis and Butthead, his first big show from the 1990s is coming back. Judge has reported that he is reviving the series and it will begin airing this summer. While Beavis and Butthead didn’t break any barriers, far from it, it was stupid, childish and filled with sexual humor and it was fantastic. Beavis and Butthead was one of those iconic 90s shows and it aired back when MTV was good and aired actual music and not Jersey Shore and other bad reality shows. It was one of the shows that oozes 90s nostalgia just like The Simpsons, Seinfeld and The X-Files.
I’m personally excited to see new episodes of Beavis and Butthead. I didn’t watch the show much back when it originally would air but, I do have some Beavis and Butthead imagery and quotes still stuck in my head. If you want to get ready for its second coming, the first 40 episodes are available on Netflix streaming for everyone to watch. Be on the look out for this raunchy, stupid yet oh so awesome show by the end this summer.
