Yesterday in Cologne, Germany at the annual game convention Gamescom Sony announced a PS3 price drop. A 160gb Playstation 3 now will cost 249.99 euros, $249.99 and 24,980 yen. In my opinion this is probably the best thing Sony could have done before the holiday season to compete with Nintendo and Microsoft. Sony also announced an Infamous 2 PS3 bundle in North America, a 320gb PS3 and a copy of Infamous 2 plus a 30 day trial of PS Plus all for $299.99.
It's a great time to buy a PS3 since there are so many good games out and many more coming this fall and holiday. Games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Theft Auto 4 and Demon Souls. Along with that there are countless great games coming out this fall like Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3 and Assassins Creed: Revelations. The PS3 also plays Bluray DVDs, can be connected to a Netflix account and has an ever growing Online service, that slowly is getting better, Sony has even promised to invest 20 million dollars on PSN exclusives.
