On May 10th the Playstation blog put out a press release that reads as follows:
"I know you all want to know exactly when the services will be restored. At this time, I can’t give you an exact date, as it will likely be at least a few more days. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through this process."

The Playstation Network will take at least a few more days to come back online, just like it will take man at least a few more days to land on Mars.
Look, I don't have a problem with the PSN being down. It's really a minor inconvenience at the very worst, but isn't it a little strange when companies decide to put out "updates" that don't really have any information or meaning? I'm not mad, just curious what the community thinks of this.
