PS4 Announcement Drink Along (Day 23) & Premature Evaluation

Can we turn a press event into a drinking game? My hangover says yes!

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, we turn a videogame into a drinking game. Find all of our Drink Along videos here on or our Drink Along playlist on YouTube.

You can find all of our Premature Evaluations videos here on or our Premature Evaluation playlist on YouTube.

Great Drink Along!  I wasn't able to see the Conference but once I saw you guys did a Drink Along, game over.

For the most part, I'm pretty damn excited for the PS4.  It's still early to know if I'm going to want once at launch but I have a feeling E3 will determine that.

I've heard Microsoft will be showing off the Next XBOX sometime this Spring.  But I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty nervous for it.

I have both systems but lately I think the PS3 has been much better IMO.  As someone who primarily plays single player games, the NEXTbox needs to show some great new IP's.  My 360 has been collecting a considerable amount of dust the last couple years because the only games they have released that I can't also play on my PS3 are Gears 3 and Halo 4 which was 'meh'.  I can enjoy any game, no matter what controller I have in my hand.

I think their conference will show what direction they are going, whether it's towards gaming or Social Networking/Kinect blah blah blah bullshit.  The next Call of Duty, Halo or even Gears will not be enough to sell me the Next XBOX even though that will probably work for the majority.  Show me something new is what I say.

But like Dan and John said, Multi-platform games are better on the 360.  It's not opinion, it's fact.  So why, in your logic, is the PS3 viable in any way?  Other than Uncharted (which was a good game), what Sony exclusives are any good?  (LOL Infamous and Final Fantasy)

I almost never play my ps3 but I think Sony killed it. For ps3 they thought they would be number 1 because the ps2 sold so well but they know different now. To me, it felt like they were focussing on gamers, their core maket. Yes they spent some of the event talking about social garbage but not nearly as much as I'm sure Microsoft will talk about kinect. They showed a lot of new ips and even made sequels feel like new ips. Not numbering the new resistance and making a new infamous series (not sure what's so funny, they're great games) are going to make the console more accessible to non-Sony fans who haven't played the previous incarnations. As a big Xbox fan Microsoft has a lot to live up to

Because I don't believe the cross-platforms are that much better on the 360.  I agree that they are (slightly) but that doesn't make me ignorant to the great games that are only on Playstation.

God of War is a great franchise, FACT.  Uncharted is a great franchise, FACT. InFamous is a really good franchise, FACT.  Resistance is a really good franchise, FACT. LittleBigPlanet is a great franchise, FACT.  Ratchet and Clank is a great franchise, FACT. And I have this crazy idea that The Last of Us is going to be kind of fun as well.

360 has Halo, Gears, Forza and Alan Wake.  So since I don't really mind the cross-platform difference, I prefer the system that has better games. Plus, I don't need to pay a monthly bullshit toll for being online or use Netflix, FACT.

Don't get me wrong, I have had a lot of fun with the 360 over the years.  But to me, they've shown close to zero customer appreciation.  All I want are new games, don't you?
