I never use Firefox. I don't know why, just never liked it too much. Well, when I opened my first site / main site, the one I built using Drupal, it all went swimmingly. I hoped so, because somebody probably spent a good amount of time building that theme. Then I opened my personal site, one which was built for style, and tests. It looked the way I wanted it to. Transparency, link colors, everything was fine EXCEPT Firefox doesn't like my padding. I don't know why, but it's a great way to push things into place. But I got over that. Then I proceeded to open my last site, which worked fine, except the background-size CSS selector decided to take a vacation. I was all :( , but I carried on because I decided it wasn't too bad.
That's when I made the worst decision of my life.
I clicked the IE8 .exe in my start menu (I WILL NOT let it near my desktop!).
I proceeded to open two more tabs, and type in my three domains.
This next part will be graphic.
To put it simply, when I opened my websites, it was almost as if Internet Explorer looked at the design and said "Fucks to that!" and proceeded to un zip his virtual pants and piss on my design. It took the style.css (which, as you probably know, dictates the styling of the site), and snapped into 90 billion pieces, and proceeded to make the site crash.
Then upon eyeballing my personal site, it whipped around at mach speed and nailed it square in the jaw with a baseball bat. When the file demanded transparency for the navigation, IE said "Opacity is for losers!" and banished it much like D&D players are baned from society. Now the navigation nowheres to be found, it eyeballed the z-index of the background picture, and decided to was too complicated. So it ignored it, and continued to fuck shit up.
Then it saw my last site. The one built with Drupal.
I thought it was a goner.
But IE simply shook it's hand and waved it goodbye.
Then I cried in the corner for about 5 minutes, whilst my body was still in shock about the devastation.
Then I had waffles, and it was ALL better.

Maybe it's a designer thing, but I also run and check my site in Chrome too.
Also not a big fan of Firefox either. Never liked their browser layout for one thing. The other is how they update like a Sony PS3 (every 5 seconds).
Unfortunately as long as Microsoft is the HNIC we're not going to see the end of IE for a long time.
Btw, I downloaded the IE9 beta, it's buggy as hell, but a ton better than IE8...so far.
IE is awful. My Grandma's IE had so many toolbars installed without her permission she lost at least 50% of browsing space. It took me a minute to fix, but she had no idea you could remove the toolbars.
Safari and Chrome use the same html rendering engine, so if your sites look good in Chrome they should be fine for Mac users.
