Welcome to Miami, with a bullet.
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, we turn a videogame into a drinking game. Find all of our Drink Along videos here on WikiGameGuides.com or our Drink Along playlist on YouTube.
This game has some great music.
I'd show myself half-life, even though it's running off of 2005 graphics. It's still significantly better than some other things even today. That or TF2.
I'd show myself KotOR.
The sooner I'd be able to play it the better.
I love this game. I think I'll reinstall it right now.
if you wanted to fuck with yourself... wouldn't you show yourself the new Aliens game... Perfect example of how well AI, game design and graphics advanced in the 11 years between 13 and 02!
I'm with Dan on what game to bring back to the past. Hotline Miami would be a terrible choice, because you want to show your past self how far developers have pushed modern technology. I do not think releases with pixel graphics would have the same impact as Killzone 3 or Halo 4, solely based on their appearances. Hotline Miami may impress from a gameplay standpoint, but you simply would not get the immediate reaction a title like Crysis 3 could deliver.
Although you're right that graphics are not all that important anymore, John, indie games only exploded this past gem. They are a hotbed of small studios' talents nowadays, yet that is not the question you are trying to answer. Can you say your past self would be impressed more by Hotline Miami than Halo 4?
No that I think about it I'd probably show myself Mass Effect instead of KotOR.
The technoloy and many other aspects of the game just blew my mind.
I would probably show myself the new Devil May Cry. Not because of the graphics, although they're pretty good, but because of the crazy awesome level design and fun as hell combat.
Also, I'm not sure if you mentioned this but please tell me that you guys are doing a guide for God of War, that game has been frustrating to me lately. Honestly, I just want to see you guys make guides again, I think the length for those videos were a lot easier for me to watch.
