Mother of God. John is playing Final Fantasy XIII because of what I said about it. Today is a great day to be me. As Mr. Bison would say to such an occasion like this:
YES! YES!!!
I'll have to add in one DLC pack I downloaded back in October that I think should've been in this list. Dark Souls: Artorias of the Abyss. There were a few parts of the content that was on the disk prior to the expansion pack being released. But, you know what they did? They released it a year after the game launched. From Software made an example of themselves with how to do DLC right, and not like other companies (I'm looking at you Capcom and EA.)
My picks for GotY have got to be:
Xbox 360:
Borderlands 2
PS3 (essentially runner-up for GotY):
Dishonored
PC:
DayZ
Mobile:
N/A (I don't play Mobile games)
DLC:
Borderlands 2 - Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage
DLG:
Walking Dead (though I'll give an honorable mention to Journey)
As for what I am looking forward to in the coming year(s), I am looking forward to Dark Souls 2, although I am worried that the absence of Miyazaki as Director will detract from what made Souls such an incredible experience.
I am also looking forward to Watch_Dogs as I mentioned in the previous episode, along with Crysis 3 since it has the ever ubiquitous meme: Can it run Crysis?
Bioshock Infinite is another game I'm looking forward to as well, since I loved the first Bioshock and I'm actually playing through that again to prepare for what's in store. And then the last game I'm anticipating is:
*sighs*
Lightning Returns. It shouldn't come as a surprise that I'm looking forward to this. I'm actually curious about the prospect of the World Driven mechanic, in conjunction with the Kingdom Hearts-esque combat. That, and I'm still a sucker for the lore behind the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythos (which is also what Versus and Agito XIII center around, albiet they vary in substance for each game.)
I look forward to contributing with more thought-provoking topics in the future.
;)
